Our History

D-Ivy College is a private co-educational institution founded in 1998 by The Late Mr Oludotun Akintoye Ilo. The dream was later nursed and translated into reality by Dr (Mrs) Oyinlola Ilo.

Its objective is to provide in Nigeria a high level of well-rounded quality education comparable to what is available in the best schools in any part of the English-speaking world. The College offers internationally recognised sixth form qualifications to any of the yearning population of Nigerian secondary school leavers and interested youths from other countries.

Over the years, the school has succeeded in this objective by producing laureate students in Cambridge A levels, the gold standard through which severals students have been able to gain admission into top universities in the United Kingdom(UK), United State of America (USA), Singapore and Nigeria. D-Ivy College students are doing quite well in their various Universities, and of recent some ex-students of the college such as Arinola Abiola (Chemical Engr.), University College London; Seye Olusoga (Electrical Engr.), Surrey University; Laide Oginni (Electrical Engr.), Queen Mary University; Wodu Majin (Mathematics), Bolton University and Chinenye Ajagu (Electronics and Communication Engr.), Univeristy of Bristol, just to mention a few, graduated with first class honours degrees. They all attributed their success to the rigour and depth of the academic experience at D-Ivy College.

D-Ivy College, in its process of expansion and development, has been approved as a centre for the Cambridge International Examination. We are proud to be the first Cambridge A' Level Examination Centre in Lagos. D-Ivy College is registered as NG174.

D-Ivy College has an excellent record in preparing students for other internationally recognized examination such as: IGCSE, TOEFL, SAT, GMAT and GRE.

In line with one of its objectives, the College has added a vibrant secondary school facility located at Plot 5, Wempco Road, Ogba, Ikeja, to its programme. This is to take care of indigenous examinations scuh as Junior and Senior Secondary School Certificate Examinations (JSCE and SSCE) conducted by the West African Examinations Council (WAEC). The first set of graduating students finished in July, 2005.

In February 2005, D-Ivy Early Years took off at No. 1, Ladipo Oluwole Street, Ikeja and moved to a bigger site at Plot 5, Wempco Road, Ogba, Lagos in December 2006. It takes care of the creche, play-group, nursery and primary pupils.

"Early Years" aims to achieve effectiveness in the core skills of reading, oral and written communication and dexterity with numbers. Pupils are introduced to the world around them through observation and study of various aspects of life.
Pupils are also exposed to practicals in Music, French, Yoruba and the use of the computer. These experiences offer them the opportunity to develop their skills while learning in a relaxed atmosphere.

D-Ivy Early Years offers the right incentives to learning within a well supervised and caring environment that enhances self-esteem and confidence.

In a proactive effort to keep Nigerian secondary school leavers abreast of International Education, D-Ivy College made history in May 2004 by becoming the first and only college in Nigeria authorized to run the prestigious International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma. The IB Diploma has proven to be the best educational opportunity in the world as it educates the totality of the person and the only pre-university qualification globally acceptable to university admission.

We are proud to be part of the IB World School community, a community of over 2,000 schools in 130 countries spread over the world.

This has been achieved with our dedicated teachers, motivated hard-working students and supportive parents.

To further enhance and promote an International teaching and learning environment, the school has broadband Internet facilities connected twenty-five (25) PCs.
